I am a self-taught maker of many things based near Tarbert on the shores of Loch Fyne. Although my background is in science, wool is my passion and I knit, weave, dye, spin, embroider and mend using this medium.
I love experimenting and trying out new crafts but wool seems to always be present somewhere. It was the move to Argyll in the spring of 2022 and joining the local spinning guild that took me further down the path to exploring wool through my introduction to spinning, weaving and natural dyeing.
Heritage and identity play a central role in my work, whether that’s through my choice of using locally produced yarn and fleece from Scottish farmers, mills and dyers, or the things that I choose to create that celebrate the rich tradition of Scotland’s woolly crafts.
